We were warmly welcomed, enjoyed a good dinner and drinks at the bar on Sunday. Breakfasts were tasty and freshly prepared; the room was small (which is why 4 and not 5) but clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. We look forward to another visit in the future - family moved up to Ipswich and it's a good venue for seeing them. - Margaret S
Proper traditional pub - obviously popular and lively on a Friday/Saturday. I was recommended this by a friend and he was not wrong- we were very pleased with our stay and the beer was good too!A place with proper character, whichto my taste is so much better than some anonymous chain.Smallish rooms are in an adjacent building so no noise problems from the pub itself, although the sound insulation between the rooms was not that great - bathrooms basically fine, but could be improvedbut it's a pub with rooms so you are not expecting a pool, bathrobes and room service!. Amiable and welcoming landlord and all the family/ staff seemed genuinely keen to please and to accommodate requests, Breakfast and evening meals were fresh, home-cooked and generously proportioned!Commended.- B
